As Founder & CEO of Merit Point Capital (MPC), Mr. Oswald leads the vision, strategy and execution of MPC with a focus on producing the highest sustainable returns for MPC’s investors.

Mr. Oswald’s past experiences include investment, development, or management of Hotels & Resorts, Restaurants, Fuel Stations, Agriculture, Retail, Land, Golf, and Office. His hotel & resort experience spans 33,000+ rooms among 200+ hotels, across 25 states and the Caribbean, ranging from 60 to 1,000 rooms each. Previously, Mr. Oswald was President & CEO of HP Hotels where he restructured the company and managed investor relations, leading HP to rank Top 30 among the largest hotel management companies in the U.S. HP’s portfolio included 47 hotels with 6,472 rooms, comprised of Hilton, Marriott, Intercontinental, Choice, Independent, and Lifestyle full-service and select-service hotels. Past roles include VP of Operations with Noble Investment Group (having completed $4B in hospitality investments) and Interstate Hotels & Resorts (world’s largest hotel & resort management company), where he successfully transitioned through Noble Management’s 2011 merger into Interstate. Mr. Oswald progressed through the ranks of operations with Noble, Winegardner & Hammons, and Hyatt, while earning numerous performance accolades, including “Hotel of the Year”.

Mr. Oswald’s thought leadership is evident through his contributions to various industry journals, member of Hilton’s Full-Service Operations Council, AT&T/DirecTV’s Technology Advisory Board, the Lodging Industry Investment Council (LIIC), advisory for Broadvine’s Business Intelligence, Chairman of a family office CRE investment group, and a panelist for entities and events such as Barclays Bank, GE National Middle Market Summit, and The Ohio State University.
